South African President Cyril Ramaphosa told reporters this morning that “kill the Boer, kill the farmer” is not meant to be a message that incites violence, but a mere liberation slogan.
He also said these chants are not grounds for arrest.
This follows a heated meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office in which Trump made Ramaphosa watch videos of these chants across his country, resulting in 59 white refugees entering the U.S.

Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok is under fire after it repeatedly brought up the controversial and widely debunked claim of “white genocide” in South Africa, even in response to unrelated queries like baseball stats or funny fish videos. The responses, all posted publicly on X, left users confused and sparked fresh concerns about the chatbot’s accuracy, bias, and moderation. In one case, Grok linked a user’s casual question about society to systemic collapse and white genocide. While some of the posts were later deleted, Grok’s handling of the topic raised alarms about how AI tools interpret and amplify fringe narratives especially as Musk pushes for deeper integration between his AI company, xAI, and the social media platform.
