The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Michael Jackson's short film for "One More Chance" was filmed in conjunction with the release of Number Ones, a new Michael Jackson compilation released in 2003. As a single, "One More Chance" reached the Top 40 in eight countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Italy, where it peaked within the Top 10 of each country's chart.

The short film, which featured Michael singing and dancing to the song on the floor of a small club while the audience members watch from up on the stage, was not released concurrently with the "One More Chance" single. It made its debut in 2010 on the box set Michael Jackson's Vision.

“Liberian Girl” is the eighth of nine short films for the “Bad” album and features three dozen actors, musicians and celebrities in a humorous “behind-the-scenes” look at the set of a Michael Jackson short film as everyone awaits Michael’s arrival. At the short film’s conclusion, when everyone converges on the set, it is revealed that Michael was actually there the whole time, as he descends from a camera crane laughing and says, “Okay everyone, that’s a wrap!”Director Jim Yukich called shooting the short film “incredible” in a 2011 interview, remembering Michael as “a pleasant person and a nice guy.”
