English village holds vote to leave UK over immigration plans

An unlikely sleepy Oxfordshire village of just 350 people is becoming the ground zero of Britain’s restive pushback against untrammelled immigration of undocumented illegal migrants.

Piddington, the picturesque and quiet rural hamlet of 286 adults and 46 children who live in thatched roofs and converted farm barns some 11 kms from the nearest train station and major shopping hub, is fighting hard against Westminster’s plans to thrust 1250 undocumented male migrants onto their boundary.

“We have had enough,’’ says business consultant and Piddington Parish council chairman Tim McNally, adding “You can’t do this to us and expect us to sit back and take it. We’re going to leave.”
