Body oils are a great way to provide lasting moisture leaving you with soft and glowy skin. This herbal body recipe has the added boost of not only locking in moisture - but allowing you to harness the incredible power of herbs and flowers. Herbs have a range of benefits including protecting the skin's natural barrier, improving the texture of your skin, fading scars and discolouration, encouraging skin cell renewal, anti-aging qualities and so many other qualities.

You can use any combination of dried and fresh herbs you have available, in this tutorial I use dried Lavender, Hibiscus Flowers & Bamboo Leaf Team. The fresh herbal body oil has Rosemary, Thyme and Mint.

Choosing your base oil can affect how your herbal body oil applies and feels on your skin. You can use any pressed oils but the following are a good place to start:

- Sunflower Oil: very affordable, with a neutral scent but still reasonable light on your skin. Good for normal to dry skin.

- Olive Oil: affordable, and very nourishing and a good nut/seed free alternative. But it does have a very strong scent. Good for normal to dry skin.

- Almond Oil: Very light and moisturising, with a neutral scent. Great for dry and sensitive skin. More expensive.

- Grapeseed Oil: Light and easily absorbed into the skin, great for oily skin but on the more expensive side.

Try to use glass container while making your herbal body oil as it helps extends the shelf life of your homemade natural body oil.
