Man killed by falling tree as Storm Boelo continues to batter UK

The first deadly storm of the winter claimed the life of a 60-year-old man today, hit by a tree in Dumfries and Galloway.

Storm Boelo brought severe flooding to cities and towns, leaving behind a trail of destruction on high streets and more than one hundred and sixty thousand homes across Great Britain and Northern Ireland without power.

And there's been severe travel disruption too, with flights cancelled, ferry services suspended and roads blocked.
