MP responds to billionaires leaving the UK | BBC Politics Live

The UK's third-biggest taxpayer is leaving the country for Greece.

Chris Rokos, a hedge-fund billionaire who paid £330m in tax last year, plans to open an office in Athens, according to reports. Greece has generous tax rules for wealthy foreigners earning overseas income.

Labour MP Samantha Niblett defended the government’s tax policy on the BBC's Politics Live, saying: “if you’re a patriot surely you want to pay your tax and contribute to the running of good services”.
