Nigel Farage signs pledge with Jordan Bardella over tackling migrant boats in the English Channel

Nigel Farage has signed a pledge with French National Rally President Jordan Bardella about returning migrants crossing the English Channel before they arrive in Britain.

Speaking at the Reform UK conference in Birmingham, Farage said: "We're about to sign a memorandum of understanding between our two parties, and we hope and believe our next two governments, where we reaffirm our commitment to stopping illegal immigration."

He added: "The United Kingdom will intercept boats which have launched from French shores and entered British territorial waters, and will return the persons on board to France."
