Poland scrambles NATO defences in first engagement since Russia invaded Ukraine

Poland has scrambled its NATO air defences after an "unprecedented violation" of its airspace by Russian drones.

In a statement on X, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said it had detected drones in its airspace during a Russian attack on Ukraine.
