Sky News host Rita Panahi discusses the outrage surrounding the response to a murder in the UK.
“Police in the UK reportedly encouraged the family of a hotel worker who was murdered by an asylum seeker to moderate their public statements out of concern that the killing could trigger anti-immigration protests,” Ms Panahi said.
“Rhiannon Whyte was stabbed 23 times with a screwdriver by a Sudanese national called Deng Majek … Majek was ultimately sentenced to 29 years in prison.
“Rhiannon’s mother, Siobhan, has told the Daily Mail that police said they didn’t want another Southport.”
