US uses UK bases: British MPs clash over Iran war at House of Commons

US B-1 Lancer bombers at RAF Fairford are being rearmed with bunker-busting JDAMs, marking a switch from stand-off missiles as the base becomes a hub for bombing operations.

Three B-1s returned from what is believed to be the first US mission to Iran launched from a British base in this conflict.

MPs say the UK is clearing individual targets with Washington under base-use agreements, while the prime minister rejects opposition criticism amid polls showing rising public opposition to the war.
