The UK’s Home Office has desperately appealed for 5,000 homes to house roughly 20,000 illegal immigrants after Epping’s migrant hotel was closed.
According to The Telegraph, the Home Office has “reached out” to accommodation contractors and property experts.
Contractors were contacted in early August, and insiders hinted that the homes must have two bedrooms and house up to four migrants, according to The Telegraph.
The Home Office’s move was revealed on Wednesday, a day after the closure of ‘The Bell Hotel’ in Epping, Essex.
Epping’s council sought the injunction against the hotel following weeks of anti-immigration protests after a migrant sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
