Moana is an upcoming American live-action fantasy musical film adaptation of the 2016 animated film of the same name.It is scheduled to be released on June 27, 2025.
Development

On April 3, 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Dwayne Johnson shared the news during Disney’s annual shareholder’s meeting Monday, that a live-action remake of the 2016 animated film, Moana, would be in development.

Dwayne Johnson is set to act as producer for the film, via his production company, Seven Bucks Productions. His co-star in the 2016 animated film, Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced the titular character, will executive produce with Scott Sheldon of Flynn Picture Co..

On May 31, 2023, Thomas Kail was announced to be the film's director.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Jared Bush, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie, would return for the remake.

The Authors for Truth series provides Prince George’s County residents with opportunities to meet and hear from national authors whose works address social justice issues and promote equality.

"Remaking the Republic" chronicles the various ways African Americans from a wide range of social positions throughout the North attempted to give meaning to American citizenship over the course of the nineteenth century. Examining newspapers, state and national conventions, public protest meetings, legal cases, and fugitive slave rescues, Bonner uncovers a spirited debate about rights and belonging among African Americans, the stakes of which could determine their place in U.S. society and shape the terms of citizenship for all Americans.

Christopher Bonner specializes in African American history and the nineteenth-century United States. "Remaking the Republic," his first book, was published in 2020 by the University of Pennsylvania Press. His work appears most recently in the collection New Perspectives on the Black Intellectual Tradition (Northwestern University Press, 2018). His work appears in digital form at Muster, the blog of the Journal of the Civil War Era and at Black Perspectives, the blog for the African American Intellectual History Society. He was a regular contributor at Black Perspectives from 2014 to 2016. Bonner is an assistant professor in the University of Maryland College Park Department of History. Originally from Chesapeake, VA, he earned his B.A. from Howard University and Ph.D. from Yale University.

March 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the official beginning of America’s war in Vietnam. It also marks the 50th anniversary of the “teach-in,” a movement that initiated the questioning of the Vietnam War on college campuses. At this commemoration, a group of artists, poets, scholars and veterans discuss their personal experiences, art and poetry, as well as the realities, legacy and relevance of the war.
Panelists include Vietnam veterans Jan Barry, author of Life After War & Other Poems (Combat Paper Press, 2012), co-editor, Winning Hearts & Minds: War Poems by Vietnam Veterans (1st Casualty Press/McGraw-Hill, 1972), and journalism instructor at Ramapo College and St. Thomas Aquinas College; Camillo (Mac) Bica, former Marine Corps officer and SVA faculty member; W.D. (Bill) Ehrhart, author, editor and instructor in history and English at the Haverford School, Philadelphia; and Susan Schnall, former Naval officer, nurse and a professor of health policy and planning at New York University.
