Abdominal pain; abnormal sensation in eye; anaemia; appetite decreased; arthralgia; asthenia; asthma exacerbated; coma; confusion; constipation; diarrhoea; difficulty standing; difficulty walking; dizziness; drowsiness; dyspnoea; encephalopathy; eye erythema; eye inflammation; fever; gastrointestinal disorders; haemorrhage; headache; hepatic disorders; hyperbilirubinaemia; hypereosinophilia; leucopenia; lymphatic abnormalities; Mazzotti reaction; myalgia; nausea; oedema; pain; postural hypotension; psychiatric disorder; severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs); stupor; tachycardia; tremor; urinary incontinence; vertigo; vomiting
Use only if potential benefit outweighs risk—no adverse effects in limited human data (recommendation also supported by specialist sources).
Specialist sources indicate present in milk but amount probably too small to be harmful.
Caution in severe impairment (no information available).
Apply a pea-size amount thinly to each of the five areas of the face: forehead, chin, nose and each cheek, avoiding the eyes, lips and mucosa. Wash hands after use. Cosmetics may be applied after the cream has dried.
Tablets can be crushed before swallowing.
Patients and carers should be advised to take ivermectin on an empty stomach; 2 hours before or 2 hours after food (effect of food on absorption is unknown).
