Good quality rare video, don't think it was Top Of The Pops but could have been. Recorded 1981.
Showaddywaddy are a 1970s pop group from Leicester, England. They specialised in revivals of hit songs from the 1950s, and dressed as Teddy Boys.
The band was formed in 1973 by the amalgamation of two groups, The Choice and The Hammers. This led to an eight member band, with the unusual feature of having two vocalists, a couple of drummers and two bassists. Their first single, "Hey Rock and Roll" (written by the band), was released in April 1974. It reached number two in the UK Singles Chart. Showaddywaddy then went on to have a further 22 UK hits (23 if Hey Rock 'n' Roll is included) from this point until late 1982. They had most of their biggest hits with covers of songs from the 1950s and the early 1960s. These cover versions included "Three Steps to Heaven" (originally by Eddie Cochran in 1960), "Heartbeat" (originally written and recorded by Buddy Holly), "Under the Moon of Love" (originally a U.S. hit for Curtis Lee in 1961 and co-written by Tommy Boyce), "When" (originally by the Kalin Twins), "You Got What It Takes" (originally by Marv Johnson) and "Dancin' Party" (originally by Chubby Checker). The above six singles were all produced by Mike Hurst (a former member of The Springfields, who had also previously produced Cat Stevens).
Following "Dancin' Party" the band produced themselves with more cover versions including "I Wonder Why" (originally by Dion and the Belmonts), "Blue Moon" (based on The Marcels' interpretation) and another Curtis Lee original "Pretty Little Angel Eyes", again co-written by Tommy Boyce. Their most recent chart single was "Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp-A-Bomp-A-Bomp)", a minor number 37 hit in 1982.
In total they had ten Top Ten singles, a solitary number one ("Under the Moon of Love" in 1976), and spent 209 weeks in the UK Singles Chart.
At the peak of their popularity, this tally included having seven, successive Top Five entries. Their biggest selling single was the aforementioned "Under the Moon of Love", which sold 985,000 copies.
Despite the hits drying up nearly three decades ago, Showaddywaddy have continued to tour, and still do around 100 dates a year all around Europe.
Cherry Red Records began to release Showaddywaddy's extensive album back catalogue on CD from 2000 onwards on their '7Ts' imprint. The reissues feature rare bonus tracks (B-sides and non-album singles); sleeve notes by Mark Brennan (Captain Oi!) and Steve Thorpe; pictures of rare and foreign single releases and memorabilia. They are as follows (released between October 2000 and April 2008).

How to Make Bath Powder: Bubble Bath & Body Wash In One! Helena 44 Views • 2 years ago

Today I'm showing you how to make dry body wash & you can also use it as bubble bath. I call it "Scrub & Bubbles" (like the cleaner) for short. This stuff is awesome, easy to make, & you're going to love it!

I'm making avocado-themed scrub & bubbles, but make any kind that you want! This is a "soft" recipe (you don’t have to follow it exactly). Feel free to change ingredients & adjust amounts. I encourage it!

RECIPE: 30 grams baking soda, 30 grams citric acid, 30 grams [any type] clay (kaolin), 10 grams avocado powder, 10 grams sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa) [or sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, or sodium coco sulfate] + 7 milliliters fragrance oil, 10 milliliters alcohol [aids in a drier/rougher texture], & 20 milliliters liquid surfactant [to activate mix] (I used castile soap, but Cocamidopropyl Betaine is better; it's a foam booster & makes bubbles last longer). *** I didn’t add polysorbate 80, but you should add 2-4 milliliters if adding mica, especially dark mica powder. * Only add small amounts of Ingredients that have a tendency to stick together, like coconut milk powder. This is why I only added 10 grams of Avocado powder. * The baking soda/citric acid are crucial- they create a coarse texture. The slsa creates rich foam, thick later, & bubbles.

DIRECTIONS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix fragrance & alcohol and add it to dry ingredients. Mix well. Lay it flat & spread it out. Dry 1 hour. Pour mixture into bowl. Add 20 milliliters liquid surfactant to make powder react & puff up. This will create a hard/rough texture once it's dry (a great pouring consistency). Mix everything together well. Lay the mixture flat on paper & spread it out. *Speed up drying time by periodically breaking up chunks throughout the drying process*. Dry it completely (24 - 48 hours). Once it's completely dry, sieve it. For a smoother consistency, blend it - but not too much; allow some rough texture to remain so it pours easily. To make sparkling & colorful layers, take about 1/3 - 1/4 of the mix & divide it. Add color/mica to each. Each time you pour powder in, pack the jar (pack at an angle for diagonal layers).

This recipe fills a 4.5 ounce jar. It should last a while (a year or more).

What if mixture isn't drying? Give it sufficient time to dry (this may take 2-3 days). After, try the following remedies: Re-wet the mixture with alcohol & allow it to dry. Re-wet the mixture with a liquid surfactant & allow it to dry. Add more dry ingredients, like citric acid (it's the perfect pouring texture). If it's still not drying, you may want to throw it out & start over.

Gnosticism 'having knowledge') is a collection of religious ideas and systems which coalesced in the late 1st century AD among Jewish and early Christian sects. These various groups emphasized personal spiritual knowledge (gnosis) above the orthodox teachings, traditions, and authority of religious institutions. Gnostic cosmogony generally presents a distinction between a supreme, hidden God and a malevolent lesser divinity (sometimes associated with the Yahweh of the Old Testament) who is responsible for creating the material universe.
Gnostic writings flourished among certain Christian groups in the Mediterranean world around the second century, when the Fathers of the early Church denounced them as heresy. Efforts to destroy these texts proved largely successful, resulting in the survival of very little writing by Gnostic theologians. Nonetheless, early Gnostic teachers such as Valentinus saw their beliefs as aligned with Christianity. In the Gnostic Christian tradition, Christ is seen as a divine being which has taken human form in order to lead humanity back to recognition of its own divine nature. However, Gnosticism is not a single standardized system, and the emphasis on direct experience allows for a wide variety of teachings, including distinct currents such as Valentinianism and Sethianism. In the Persian Empire, Gnostic ideas spread as far as China via the related movement Manichaeism, while Mandaeism, which is one of the only two surviving Gnostic religions from antiquity, is found in Iraq, Iran and diaspora communities. Jorunn Buckley posits that the early Mandaeans may have been among the first to formulate what would go on to become Gnosticism within the early Jesus movement.
Gnosis refers to knowledge based on personal experience or perception. In a religious context, gnosis is mystical or esoteric knowledge based on direct participation with the divine. In most Gnostic systems, the sufficient cause of salvation is this "knowledge of" ("acquaintance with") the divine. It is an inward "knowing", comparable to that encouraged by Plotinus (neoplatonism), and differs from proto-orthodox Christian views. Gnostics are "those who are oriented toward knowledge and understanding – or perception and learning – as a particular modality for living". The usual meaning of gnostikos in Classical Greek texts is "learned" or "intellectual", such as used by Plato in the comparison of "practical" (praktikos) and "intellectual" (gnostikos). Plato's use of "learned" is fairly typical of Classical texts.

By the Hellenistic period, it began also to be associated with Greco-Roman mysteries, becoming synonymous with the Greek term musterion. The adjective is not used in the New Testament, but Clement of Alexandria speaks of the "learned" (gnostikos) Christian in complimentary terms. The use of gnostikos in relation to heresy originates with interpreters of Irenaeus. Some scholars consider that Irenaeus sometimes uses gnostikos to simply mean "intellectual", whereas his mention of "the intellectual sect" is a specific designation The term "Gnosticism" does not appear in ancient sources, and was first coined in the 17th century by Henry More in a commentary on the seven letters of the Book of Revelation, where More used the term "Gnosticisme" to describe the heresy in Thyatira. e term Gnosticism was derived from the use of the Greek adjective gnostikos (Greek γνωστικός, "learned", "intellectual") by St. Irenaeus (c. 185 AD) to describe the school of Valentinus as he legomene gnostike haeresis "the heresy called Learned (gnostic)."

Origins
The origins of Gnosticism are obscure and still disputed. The proto-orthodox Christian groups called Gnostics a heresy of Christianity, but according to the modern scholars the theology's origin is closely related to Jewish sectarian milieus and early Christian sects.[1][22][note 14][23] Scholars debate Gnosticism's origins as having roots in Neoplatonism and Buddhism, due to similarities in beliefs , but ultimately, its origins are currently unknown. As Christianity developed and became more popular, so did Gnosticism, with both proto-orthodox Christian and Gnostic Christian groups often existing in the same places. The Gnostic belief was widespread within Christianity until the proto-orthodox Christian communities expelled the group in the second and third centuries (AD). Gnosticism became the first group to be declared heretical.
