A video appearing to show a police officer kicking a man as he lies on the floor is being “assessed” by professional standards, a force has said.

The footage, shared on social media, is said to have been filmed at Manchester Airport’s Terminal Two on Tuesday and shows the officer, with a Taser in his hand, appearing to kick and then stamp on the head of a man who is lying face down on the floor, with a woman kneeling beside him.

A second man also appears to be struck by the officer.

Greater Manchester Police acknowledged concerns about “conduct within the video” and said firearms officers had been responding to reports of an altercation between members of the public.

Violent disorder has broken out in a suburb of Leeds following an incident at a property.

A group of people were filmed flipping over a police car during the unrest and a fire was seen being lit.

Police said no injuries had been reported.

West Yorkshire Police said: "At 5pm today (Thursday), police were called to an ongoing incident at an address in Luxor Street, Harehills.

"Officers attended and found an ongoing disturbance which involved some agency workers and some children.

"More people started to attend the location and a decision was made to remove the agency workers and the children to a safe place.

"A crowd started to gather and more officers were requested to attend the area, where some pockets of disorder were occurring."

A global IT outage is affecting major services including airlines, banks, healthcare and broadcasters across the world.

It is believed the meltdown is related to an issue at the software company Microsoft and global cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike - although it is unknown if it is the same problem is affecting airports and train services across the globe.

A convicted South African murderer who shot dead dozens of black men during apartheid has told the BBC the police sanctioned his violence.

Louis van Schoor says others should share the blame for the killings he carried out as a security guard.

Over a three-year period in the 1980s under the country’s racist apartheid system - which imposed a strict hierarchy that privileged white South Africans - Van Schoor shot and killed at least 39 people.

A 15-year-old boy has been shot dead following an incident in west London.

Police said they were called to reports of a shooting in a park in Ladbroke Grove at around 7.20pm on Sunday.

An air ambulance was sent to the area along with paramedics, but the boy died at the scene.

At least 18 people have been killed after a plane crashed while it was taking off from Nepal's capital of Kathmandu.

The pilot, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital, is the only survivor.

Nineteen people were on the Saurya Airlines test flight on Wednesday, including technical staff members of the airline and two crew members.

Airport authorities have not been able to confirm the cause of the accident.

The head of the US Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle has said she plans to resign following security lapses in the run up to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Both Democratic and Republican lawmakers called on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to step down following the assassination attempt of Donald Trump.

The demand came during and after a hearing on Monday that questioned Ms Cheatle about her agency's security preparations ahead of the 13 July rally in Pennsylvania.

The shooting left one person dead and three others, including Trump, wounded.
