In this segment, we unpack the growing and dangerous rhetoric coming from certain Boer groups who claim they are being targeted in a so-called “white genocide” in South Africa — a narrative that has been widely debunked by crime statistics, courts, and independent researchers.

Despite the lack of evidence, some within these circles are now openly declaring that they are “ready to fight” Black South Africans to defend themselves against a genocide that does not exist. This language is not just inflammatory — it is reckless, divisive, and deeply destabilising in a country with a painful history of racial violence.

This report examines how fear-mongering, victimhood politics, and misinformation are being weaponised to justify hostility, undermine democracy, and revive apartheid-era thinking. We also question who benefits from pushing this narrative, how it fuels international propaganda campaigns, and why ordinary South Africans are forced to live with the consequences of these manufactured race wars.

South Africa is facing real problems — poverty, inequality, crime, and unemployment — but inventing a racial genocide only distracts from accountability and risks pushing the country toward unnecessary conflict.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has publicly rejected threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to exclude South Africa from the upcoming G20 summit, stressing that South Africa is a founding member and a member "in its own name and right." The confrontation follows Trump's boycott of the G20 summit in Johannesburg and his repeated "untrue statements" about an alleged "white genocide" and land confiscation from white people in the country. Ramaphosa accused the U.S. stance of being influenced by a "sustained campaign of disinformation" that undermines South Africa's national interests and relations with key partners. The escalating friction is also fuelled by other South African policies that have angered the Trump administration, including Black Economic Empowerment laws designed to redress apartheid's legacy, and South Africa's genocide case against Israel.
