Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says Rishi Sunak is “clutching at straws” with his national service proposal.

The UK government has unveiled plans to introduce a year's compulsory national service for 18-year-olds if it remains in power.

“It’s laughable that he thinks that any young person will sign up for national service,” Ms Krakue said.
