Clones = Exact Copies
Clones are more properly called asexual vegetative propagation is a common method of propagation for cannabis and other plants.

Goal is to maintain exact chemical profile of the original plant which in some cases could be a genetic isolate.



Basic Cloning Process is Simple
Minimal materials are needed

Many are present in a general growing operation

How much resources you allocate will depend on the scale of your operation.

Simple Materials List
Stock/Mother Plant
Male plants can also be cloned for breeding purposes
However, plant material should not be an autoflower
Knife or even sharp scissors
Rooting Hormone
Will increase success rate
Propagation Environment
Diffused light (under 300 PAR)
High Relative Humidity: (90% RH)
Temperature: 78⁰F-82⁰F (25⁰C-28⁰C)

Rooting and Clones
Clones will form adventitious roots and will lack a central tap root that forms when starting with seeds.

Hello, today I am going to show you how to take clones or cuttings from cannabis plants.

I am going to take some cuttings of my Blackberry Moonrocks from Anesia Seeds that claim to have THC levels of 33%, while smelling like blueberries and lavender.

The first thing I do is fill a narrow glass with water and throw Rapid Rooter peat plugs into some water to soak.

I make sure the Rapid Rooter is wet, without much water dripping from it.

I will then select a branch which is healthy and around six inches long.

After cutting, immediately place it in some water to avoid air bubbles entering the stem.

I will then trim off the bottom nodes and cut below one of the nodes at a 45 degree angle.

I then carefully place the cutting into a Rapid Rooter, pick off some peat, and use it to fill the hole.

Sometimes I will keep all the leaves, but where I need the space, I am going to trim them today.

I then place them into a GroDan smart tray, which keeps the Rapid Rooters off the bottom of the clone dome.

I keep the environment warm with above 90% humidity, using a clone dome, and will dunk the Rapid Rooters in water if they get too dry over the next three weeks.

This Blackberry Moonrocks will be going into flower within the next few weeks.

In this update, a few fresh cuttings are taken from mother plants, trimmed down to improve airflow and reduce potential pest habitats. The clones are started in an aeroponic spray cloner box with clonex nutrient added, and their lowest nodes are removed before being secured in foam pucks.
The process includes adjusting water pH from 7.3 down to 6, keeping mother plants on a steady 4–5 day watering cycle, and eventually potting the rooted clones into ProMix HP soil amended with Gaia Green Organics. With worm castings, mineral dust, and mycorrhizae already mixed in, the soil is ready to support healthy growth right from the start. After planting, each new clone is given a light drink of dechlorinated tap water to settle in.
