But the so-called ‘Unite the Kingdom’ demo was a major event. Police estimated that more than a 100,000 protesters marched to a central London rally.

It was organised by far right campaigner Stephen Yaxley Lennon - aka Tommy Robinson and there were plenty of tributes to the murdered right-wing American influencer Charlie Kirk.

Zia Yusuf, head of policy at Reform UK, claims that Britain has become a "soft touch" on migration and suggested between 15 and 25 detention sites need to be built.

He described these as "purpose-built modular steel structures".

"We can look around the world at where things have worked and worked well,” he said.

"President Trump stood up 3,000 detention beds in eight days. That was this year in the state of Florida – using steel modular structures."

Nigel Farage has confirmed Reform UK has a two-week plan to end the Channel crossing crisis.

In a sit-down interview with GB News's Political Correspondent Katherine Forster, the Reform UK leader clarified that the two-week plan would not come into force until legislation had been passed through the Houses of Parliament.

Mr Farage raised eyebrows yesterday after he appeared to suggest that he could end the migrant crisis within two weeks of winning the keys to No10.

When pushed on the timeline for his migration plan, Mr Farage told The People's Channel: "Within two weeks of legislation being passed, we will stop the boats."

Thousands of protesters marched through central London on Saturday, carrying flags of England and Britain during a demonstration organized by anti-immigrant and anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson.

A "Stand Up to Racism" counter protest also gathered nearby, following a highly charged summer in Britain that has seen protests over immigration and free speech.

Demonstrators carried the Union flag of Britain and the red and white St. George's Cross of England, while others brought American and Israeli flags and wore MAGA hats of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Anti-immigration "Unite the Kingdom" protesters also faced off against police in one of the biggest right-wing demonstrations of modern times in the U.K.
