Moscow on Monday said it that it could launch strikes at British military targets inside Ukraine and elsewhere if Kyiv's forces used British-supplied long-range missiles to strike Russia. The statement issued by the Russian foreign ministry came after British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said during a visit to Ukraine that Kyiv "absolutely has the right to strike back at Russia". Foreign Secretary David Cameron says Britain has sent an "unequivocal message" to Russia after expelling the country's defence attache.
The UK said it was also removing the diplomatic premises status from several Russian owned properties in the UK and capping the amount of time Russian diplomats can spend in the UK
The actions come against the backdrop of Russia's war on Ukraine and Moscow's attempt to "undermine European security and collective will to support Ukraine", said Mr Cameron.

Authorities in the UK covered up the infected-blood scandal, knowingly exposing victims to unacceptable risks, a report has said.
The five-year investigation accused doctors, the government, and the NHS of letting patients catch HIV and hepatitis.
More than 30,000 people were infected, from 1970 to 1991, by contaminated blood products and transfusions, and about 3,000 have died.
Sir Brian Langstaff, who chaired the inquiry, said the scale of the scandal was "horrifying" and the authorities had been too slow to respond to the risks.

The Labour Party has extended its lead over the Conservatives, according to the first exclusive YouGov poll of the campaign for Sky News.
One week into the race for Number 10, Labour is 27 points ahead of the Tories.
The Great Britain poll - conducted on Monday and Tuesday this week - puts Labour on 47%, the Tories on 20%, Reform on 12%, the Liberal Democrats on 9% and Greens on 7%.
The poll suggests the Conservatives have failed to get a bounce from Rishi Sunak's surprise election announcement and are still struggling to win back its coalition of 2019 voters.
