First things, we are going to be focusing on this being a Minecraft survival guide as Minecraft creative mode is mostly just building. If you master Minecraft survival, you will be able to play creative mode without issue.

I also want to mention that this will work with both Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition meaning that no matter what version of Minecraft you are using, this video will be the perfect tutorial for beginners.

With that out of the way, I’d recommend creating your first Minecraft survival single-player world. Once you are in-game, you will want to gather wood. There are tons of different types of wood that you can use, and any tree will work. To chop down wood at first, you will just punch it with an empty hand.

Once you have wooden logs, open your inventory and in the crafting menu in the top right, place the logs to break them down into planks. Use four planks in this menu to craft a crafting table. This will be used to craft bigger items such as tools.

Place the crafting table down and start building wooden tools. This is done with sticks and planks, and these tools will allow us to be more efficient. From here, you need to find some animals and get some food. This will be the food we use until we get to farming.

From there, chop down trees for the remainder of the first day until you dig down underground to survive your first night in Minecraft. In this first night, upgrade your tools to stone by mining underground in a staircase motion. It’s recommended to craft a furnace as well and get some coal.

After the first night, day two has you focusing on farming. Get some seeds from grass, till the ground near water, and plant the seeds. It’s important to get a farming source going as soon as possible.

From here, it’s time to get a bed. This can be gotten from sheep. You’ll need three pieces of wool to craft a bed. A bed will let us sleep through the first night. Once you have a bed, you can build a house, upgrade your tools to iron, get diamonds, make a run for netherite armor, the options are up to you.
