ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
=====

Dr. Katis is a small animal integrative veterinarian who developed a passion for natural medicine while I was living in New Zealand. Her vet career was lucky enough to begin in the beautiful country of New Zealand. She was able to see how living off the land by growing our own vegetables and raising our own animals was the way to live the healthiest versions of ourselves. Her pets were lucky to have lots of open space to run around in and were always at the beach or the river.

When they moved back to the States five years ago, her husband, unfortunately, developed an autoimmune disease. As they researched natural medicine options for him to avoid the horrible side effects of the treatment options his doctors were providing him, Dr. Katie realized that she was doing a disservice to her animal patients by not offering these holistic options to them. She began down the integrative medicine route and has never been happier. Through nutrition, acupuncture, herbal medicine, essential oils, and supplements, every animal can achieve optimal health or feel their best even when they have a chronic illness or disease like cancer. She currently has a certification in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and is continuously learning about the other natural modalities and growing her knowledge base every day!

She started this business to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care because we need to increase awareness of how amazing natural medicine truly is! Dr. Katie's mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime. One of her greatest joys is the opportunity to collaborate with both pet parents and other veterinary professionals to ensure access to all available integrative options for pet health care.

Top 10 Best Herbs For Parasites

Parasitic infection is an ordinary health issue that many people struggle from, and most are utterly unaware of it. In fact, parasitic infection is much more common than most people think, with an approximate 3.5 billion people suffering from parasites globally.
Out of the 3.5 billion people infected with intestinal parasites, about 450 million are considered to have clinical symptoms, while more than 2 billion people are deemed chronically infected with intestinal parasites, and more than 200,000 deaths take place due to intestinal parasite infections every year.

Wormwood
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthum) is a plant that has been utilised medicinally for centuries, and in ancient Greece, wormwood was most frequently used for the expulsion of worms – therefore the name wormwood. Today, the primary usage of wormwood stays the same, it is one of nature’s most strong vermifuge herbs for killing and eliminating parasites from the body.
Wormwood’s capability of killing parasites is majorly attributed to α-Thujone, a bioactive compound in the plant that has been indicated to have strong anthelmintic (anti-parasitic) properties. It is partitioned effective at killing helminths (worms). The potent natural parasite cleanse properties of thujone make wormwood one of the best herbal remedies for parasite removal.

Green Black Walnut Hulls
Black walnuts (Juglans nigra) grow copiously across the United States, and they are the second most-cultivated walnut in North America, after English walnuts. The walnut has 3 major parts: the kernel, a dry outer covering called a hull, and a hard shell. While you can consume the kernel raw or press it for oil, the fresh green hulls actually have antioxidants that are utilised in extracts and supplements for medicinal usages.
The fresh green hulls of black walnuts possess many medicinal uses and are one of the most excellent herbs for parasites. Many cultures have utilised Black Walnut hulls to support a healthy intestinal environment and have consumed the nuts for their rich Omega 3 essential fatty acid content, vitamin C and flavor. The astringency from the tannins in the hulls and leaves have resulted in herbalists over the years to include Black Walnut in topical applications for the skin. Perhaps the most usual use, however, is for detoxification and killing intestinal parasites.

Berberine
This compound can be discovered in herbs such as the European barberry (Berberis vulgaris). Many studies have found that berberine can lower parasites.
In a 2014 report in the Iranian Journal of Parasitology, berberine from barberry assisting in protecting against tapeworm infection. You can also discover berberine in herbs like goldenseal and coptis.
