After suffering four brain injuries in one year and enduring excruciating pain and memory loss, Emily Farmer felt God’s grace as she shared her talents. “We are never abandoned,” she exclaimed. “God is there for us.”

“Every day was so hard,” she said, describing the brain fog and agony after the fourth brain injury, caused by a car accident. She questioned, If God loved her, why would He let these injuries happen? “I felt like my life was done.”

One day while jogging, she heard a distinct voice tell her to stop and play the piano in a care center. A gifted musician, Emily thought she’d return another day when she wasn’t so sweaty. The voice was more demanding the second time, so she entered.

In the course of performing a makeshift concert, she met a man “with a little pep to his step” who would turn 100 years old in six months. She promised to return every week until his birthday.

“It was so hard every day just to get out of bed, but I … had made a promise to this man,” she said. “I have to keep him alive until he is 100 years old.” Her weekly visits soon turned into daily shows.

This new friend taught her to move forward in life despite challenges. “If you have a pulse, you have a purpose,” he said.

Gradually, Emily said, through interactions with others, she began to feel God’s grace. Hope grew. “God puts people in our path … at the most random times,” she continued. “If there’s anything I’ve learned in my life, it’s that we are never abandoned. … God is there for us.”

Lyrics:
A beautiful and blinding morning
The world outside begins to breathe
See clouds arriving without warning
I need you here to shelter me

And I know that only time will tell us how
To carry on without each other

So keep me awake to memorize you
Give me more time to feel this way
We can't stay like this forever
But I can have you next to me today

If I could make these moments endless
If I could stop the winds of change
If we just keep our eyes wide open
Then everything would stay the same

And I know that only time will tell me how
We'll carry on without each other

So keep me awake for every moment
Give us more time to be this way
We can't stay like this forever
But I can have you next to me today

We'll let tomorrow wait, you're here, right now, with me
All my fears just fall away, when you are all I see

We can't stay like this forever
But I have you here today

And I will remember
Oh I will remember
Remember all the love we shared today

Lyrics:
Scusa, ma è difficile parlare
Quando il tempo è così breve
Vorrei dirti così tante cose
Ma non trovo le parole
Grazie per avermi regalato
La pazienza degli eroi, il coraggio
Vorrei averti sempre qui al mio fianco
Sono certo, we will meet once again
Quanto questa vita ha dà insegnare
So che adesso tocca a me
Dentro al sorriso di un bambino
C'è già l'uomo che sarà da grande
Scusa per gli abbracci un po' bugiardi
Che ho capito troppo tardi
Certo, l'esperienza non si insegna
Ma si impara con l'amore
Grazie per avermi regalato
La speranza degli dei, il perdono
Vorrei camminare nel silenzio
Al tuo fianco, we will meet once
Vorrei camminare sempre al tuo fianco
Sono certo, we will meet
Once again

➡️ God is still recruiting men and women who will give themselves to His purposes. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson talks about the importance of choosing to please God, saying “yes” when He recruits us for assignments. Pastor Allen shows how several heroes in the Bible responded when God asked them to do something difficult. Their initial responses were much like ours: "I’m not ready; I’m not capable; I’m too busy; There are other people more qualified to do that, God.” When God calls us to do something new, it generally comes with challenges. But if we determine to pray, please God, and do difficult things, He will use our lives to accomplish mighty things in His Kingdom.
