We asked kids to tell us who Jesus is in their own words.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. He loves you. He lived and died so that you could have peace and joy in this life and return to live with God, your Heavenly Father, in the next life.
Jesus loved others, served others, and obeyed God’s commandments. He wants us to live like Him, and if we do, we will be happy.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Jesus is accused and condemned before Pilate, then is mocked, crucified, and buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathæa.
Matthew 27:26–50
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
29 And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a breed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 And sitting down they watched him there;
37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Have you ever felt like you’re too far off the path to change? Kenny shares his story of how change is possible through God’s grace. Kenny was raised by a religious mom who loved God and loved people. But when he was 13 years old, Kenny decided to stop going to church and put God aside. He wanted to do things that would bring him instant prosperity, protection, and status. The standards his mom taught him didn’t really matter anymore.
Kenny knew his choices would take him down a path he would regret, but he went down it anyway. Eventually he wanted to change but didn’t know how. He remembers crying in his car, saying, “Please!” to God.
The next day, missionaries came to his door and asked him, “Have you ever thought about serving a mission?” Right then Kenny knew it was an answer to his plea. He could change! As soon as he started relying on God’s grace to help him change his life, the toxic things in his life left.
Although it took time to repent and change, Kenny’s seed of faith continues to grow.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The Book of Mormon contains many cherished stories of faith and courage. One such story tells of a brave man named Samuel who, amid opposition and great personal danger, stood upon a city wall and proclaimed to a wicked and sinful populace that within five years the Savior, Jesus Christ, would be born. He urged the people to repent and return to God, but he was met with scorn.
Samuel predicted many things that would precede the Savior’s birth, including a new star appearing in the sky. The faithful believed in Samuel’s prophetic words. And sure enough, five years later, all of Samuel’s prophecies were fulfilled, including a new star shining brightly in the heavens.
“And behold, there shall a new star arise, such an one as ye never have beheld; and this also shall be a sign unto you.” —Helaman 14:5

In the April 2020 General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Russell M Nelson spoke about a new symbol for the Church of Jesus Christ -- a new logo. This branding will better represent the Church as the Church of Jesus Christ, on whom it is centered. Jesus Christ is who we revere, worship, follow, and love. Everything we try to accomplish is for Him.
What are your thoughts on the new logo? We want to hear in the comments below!

We asked kids to tell us the story of Jesus calling His Apostles to be “fishers of men” in their own words. In this story, some of Jesus’s Apostles were fishermen before they met Him. One day, Jesus came to them and said He could make them fishers of men. They left everything and followed Him. They spent their days inviting people to listen to Jesus and follow Him too. If you serve and teach others like Jesus and His Apostles did, you can be a fisher of men too.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
In the 10th chapter of Luke in the New Testament, the Savior received two questions from a lawyer with unfriendly intentions. The first question was, “What shall I do to inherit eternal life?” The Savior reminded him of what was written in the scriptures: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” The lawyer followed up with a second question: “Who is my neighbour?” (verses 25–29). Instead of answering the question directly, the Savior guided the lawyer to answer his own question with the parable of the good Samaritan.
The Savior teaches that everyone is our neighbor. His teachings and personal example of kindness and mercy to others are just as applicable today as they were during His lifetime. Opportunities, large and small, to be modern-day good Samaritans surround us every day. Are we willing to be inconvenienced to help someone in need? Do we hesitate? President Thomas S. Monson once said, “Unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives” (“What Have I Done for Someone Today?” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2009, 85).
When we willingly extend ourselves beyond what is easy to do, the reward is a joyful unity with our Heavenly Father; our Savior, Jesus Christ; and one another.

Mormon missionaries—properly referred to as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—are representatives of Jesus Christ who share His gospel with the world. Missionaries have been teaching about Jesus Christ since long before He came to the earth. The Old Testament describes missionary efforts of prophets such as Noah and Isaiah, and the New Testament is filled with records of Jesus Christ ministering, teaching, and atoning for the sins of the world. After His death, the Apostles continued to remind and invite people to follow His teachings. It is no wonder we continue the practice of missionary work today.
Samuel Smith served as the first missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830, just two months after the Church was organized. Since that time, the Lord has sent over one million men and women to serve and help people all over the world. No matter where they serve, missionaries all have the same basic responsibilities: to love, serve, teach, and baptize. The intent is for all people everywhere to have an opportunity to learn about Christ and follow His example of faith and baptism.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
You have heard of prophets in the Bible, and you may have heard of modern-day prophets too. Who are they? What is their purpose? Let’s talk about it.
God told Noah to build an ark before the flood came. He did, and the family of Noah was saved. God gave Moses 10 commandments to teach to the people. Those who follow the commandments were blessed. Noah, Moses, and other prophets found in the Bible were called by God to speak for Him. When they did, it was as if God was speaking.
Mormons, more properly referred to as Latter-day Saints, believe God still speaks to us, His children, through prophets. Just like prophets found in the Bible and The Book of Mormon, additional scripture, today’s prophet is a witness of Jesus Christ. He testifies of the Savior’s divinity and teaches His gospel. He receives direction from God and often offers warnings in order to prepare us for what is to come.
So who are these modern prophets?

Katie saw her father as a hero until he was arrested for misconduct as a teacher. She felt shocked and betrayed. The pain was deep. She was emotionally exhausted and couldn’t face her responsibilities.
Standing in a room where her children’s toys littered the floor, she received a phone call from her father. She thought of the good memories while growing up. She relied on her belief in Jesus Christ and found peace and strength as she considered how He forgave imperfect people who made big mistakes.
“Forgiving him doesn’t mean that you’re OK with his actions,” she said. “It means that you’re not going to dwell on his actions.”
Seeking peace from the weight of the hurt she felt, she “worked really hard by calling him, by visiting him, by not completely severing that tie.” Katie found strength and comfort in prayer to get through the day.
Forgiveness is a process, she said, explaining that it takes work to forgive, more than just the passing of time. “[Forgiveness] came because I was looking for it. It came because I was working for it.”
