My name is Heather & I am the co-founder of Herbal Spirits! My husband Chris & I created Herbal Spirits to help people all around the world to quit smoking cigarettes. If it weren’t for me being a chain smoker for 8 years & finally quitting with the help of herbs and flowers, I’m not sure Herbal Spirits would even exist! Today I am going to show you how to make your own herbal smoking blend with just three simple ingredients. It’s beneficial information to have if you are serious about quitting cigarettes & you are on a budget!

For any smoking blend that you create, you’re going to want a base, modifier (something that has a specific role), & a flavor. There are so many herbs & flowers you can choose from! If you decide to switch up the recipe I am going to use today, please do a little bit of research & make sure you can smoke the plant you are wanting to smoke, & whether or not it’s a base, modifier, or flavor. Better safe than sorry!

I’m going to use Mullein as my base, Damiana as my modifier, & Roses to add flavor.

*FUN FACT!* when I first stopped smoking cigarettes I ordered a pound of mullein, a pound of skullcap, & a pound of lavender & that ladies & gentleman was THE blend that got me unhooked from cigarettes!!! I only smoked about a quarter of each bag & ended up donating the rest to Herbal Spirits when we first started out.

Making your herbal smoking blend is simple. Add 3 tablespoons of Mullein, 2 tablespoons of Damiana, & 1 tablespoon of rose. If you want to make a larger batch then do handfuls rather than tablespoons. After you’ve combined all of your ingredients gently massage to create a smooth consistency.

Just two ingredients to make a herbal cough syrup.

It will keep for months. It takes less than an hour to make, so you will always be able to whip up a batch quickly.

Herb syrups are a great way of preserving herbs for other uses, to pour over ice cream, to use in recipes or give as homemade gifts.

Dosage as a cough syrup - adults 2 teaspoons, children 1 teaspoon 3 to 6 times a day.
Do not give honey to children under 12 months old
This syrup is NOT suitable for diabetics whether you've made it with honey or sugar.

Ingredients: do not use both honey and sugar
13/4 ounces or 40g of fresh herb - 15g of dried.
1 1/8 Cup (8 oz, 225g) sugar OR
2/3 Cup (8 oz, 225g) honey
1 3/4 Cup (3/4 pint, 450 ml) water

This was a bit of an experiment for myself and I'm very glad to say that it turned out wonderfully!

For my creation I used chamomile, lavender, and rose. The chamomile was used to bring peace, rose or love, and lavender for sleep - though feel free to use any kind of herb that is safe to consume and calls to you.

DUSTING POWDER- Dried Rose Petals and Calendula Petals ground to a powder and mixed with equal parts of bicarbonate of soda and arrowroot powder (or cornflour). Mix altogether and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Mix again. To use, dust under your arms or on your body using a puff or on a damp cloth.

DEODORANT - Infuse fresh Rose petals (or flower petals of choice) in organic coconut oil. Remove the petals and allow the coconut oil to set. Blend equal parts of bicarbonate of soda and Arrowroot powder (or cornflour) and then mix in the coconut oil as if it were a dough. The coconut oil should incorporate all the powders. Add your favourite essential oil and mix again and transfer to a container. To use, simply swipe over the surface and spread under the arms.
